Types of Ornamental Fish

 

Ornamental fish come in a variety of types and characteristics, receiving a lot of love worldwide. Generally, they are divided into freshwater and saltwater ornamental fish, each requiring different environments and care methods. Here are a few popular types of ornamental fish:

 

1. **Goldfish (Carassius auratus)**: Perhaps the most widely known freshwater ornamental fish. Goldfish come in various colors, shapes, and sizes, and are relatively easy to care for, making them popular among beginners.

2. **Betta (Betta splendens)**: Betta fish are known for their brilliant colors and elegant fins. Also called 'Siamese fighting fish,' males tend to fight each other, so it's usually best to keep them alone.

3. **Neon Tetra (Paracheirodon innesi)**: A small and brightly colored freshwater fish. The sight of them swimming in groups is beautiful, so it's recommended to keep several together.

4. **Guppy (Poecilia reticulata)**: A small freshwater fish known for its variety of colors and patterns. They are easy to breed and require simple care, making them suitable for beginners.

 

 

5. **Clownfish (Amphiprioninae)**: Made famous by the animation 'Finding Nemo,' these are saltwater fish that live in symbiosis with coral reefs and are suitable for saltwater aquariums.

6. **Blue Tang (Paracanthurus hepatus)**: A saltwater fish known for its bright blue body and yellow tail. It became the model for 'Dory' in 'Finding Dory.'
